Hope for Kidz Program - Les Abricot, Haiti Home - Who We Are - Ministries - Outreach - Sister Church Program - Les Abricot, Haiti - Hope for Kidz Program - Les Abricot, Haiti
Since 2005, NewChurch Georgetown has worked to establish healthy relationships with our sister church in the village of Les Abricot, Haiti. We want those relationships to continue to build, not only with the adults of Les Abricot, but the kids as well. One way we try to build those relationships is through the sponsorship of a child within our sister church to be able to attend school for the year.
Although Haitian families may not have an income, it is expected that children pay to go to school. Those kiddos that cannot afford to go to school enter into the workforce at a very young age (as early as 3-4) helping out in the fields to increase family income. It is difficult for them to break that cycle without education...and that is where Hope for Kidz plays a part.
But don't take our word for it...just listen to what Benjamin, one of our Liaisons with Les Abricot had to say to our church leadership during our trip in October of 2011:
Need more?!?!? Not a problem at all, take a look at this message re-printed from rminet.org:
A Haitian Proverb states that “Hope gives man the reason to live”.
The Opportunity:
Hope for Kidz is a child sponsorship program founded by Reciprocal Ministries International (RMI) in 1999 to meet the educational and physical needs of Haitian children who are unable to attend school due to their severe poverty.
Your Sponsorship of a Child Provides:
Solid Christian Education
School Books for one year
School Tuition
School Entrance Fee
A School Uniform
A Pair of Shoes
Hot Lunch (in some areas)
Sponsorship:
For $250, a sponsored child receives the above for an entire school year. We feel that the Hope for Kidz program is providing HOPE today for Haiti’s tomorrow!
