NewChurch Georgetown's Christmas Stroll team has been investing in the local community by creating a safe, fun and free Christmas experience to show God's love to the families and especially the children of our community. Every member of NewChurch volunteers in some capacity to help transform two city blocks of downtown Georgetown into Whoo-Village.
The Christmas Stroll has long been a tradition in Georgetown when on the first Saturday of December the
Downtown Square is transformed into a holiday festival. NewChurch
celebrated its seventh year as the sponsor of a children’s area dubbed
“Whoo-Village.” 2012 brought over 30,000 people out to play, over 400 children climbed the rock wall and over 900 photos were taken with the grinch. Whoo-Village was nominated Best Event of Georgetown in 2010.
Whoo-Village covers more than two city blocks with every activity and
ride being free to all. Activities include the famous whoo-hair salon, rock walls, a giant slide, face painting, henna tattoos, putt putt golf, laser tag, hockey slap shot (courtesy of the Texas Stars), and
many more activities for children of all ages. NewChurch is one of the largest
sponsors of the Christmas Stroll.
We hope to see you at the next Whoo-Village at the 2013 Georgetown Christmas Stroll.
